Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Louis Latham

As autumn Leaves turn their brilliant hue two lovers were joined and said I do.

Donna Denise Truitt of Leedey,OK and Kevin Louis Latham of Elk City, OK exchanged wedding vows in a double ring ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2004, in The Opera House at the National Route 66 Museum and Old Town Museum Complex, Elk City, Oklahoma, with Brother Kenneth Creason, Assembly of God, Leedey, OK, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jody Tidwell and the late Frank Tidwell, Leedey, OK. Her grandparents are Evelyn Wells and the Late Elmer Wells of Guymon, OK and Frankie Tidwell and the Late Murray F. Tidwell of Cheyenne, OK.

The groom is the son of Carleta (Wilson) Latham of Marlow, OK and Robert L. Latham of Guthrie, OK. His grandparents are Edna (Evans) Wilson and the Late Carl C. Wilson of Marlow, OK, and the Late Joe L. and Late Leanora Latham of Spur, TX, who were also married on October 31, 1934.

Music was provided by Terry’s Sounds, Terry Latham, brother of the groom, Weatherford, OK, assisted by John McFarland, friend of the family Irving, TX. Selections from traditional wedding CDs and The New Wedding March, by D.C. & Co., were chosen by the groom for his bride.

The stage area of the Opera House was decorated with a screen draped in burgundy fabric and a wreath and garlands of yellow and purple roses, mixed autumn flowers and autumn foliage in hues of yellows, oranges, purples, dark greens and reds, adorned the top of the screen. Accenting the stage area were also lighted jack-a-lanterns surrounded by autumn leaves.

The center aisle was decorated with large orange and yellow bows, with curly streamers.

Escorted to center stage by her brother, Kenneth Tidwell, Clinton, OK, the bride wore a sleeveless, A-line, floor length bridal satin gown. The off-the-shoulder neckline accented with bridal satin ribbon that crossed the front to the left side, and attached to the waist tied in a bow. The gown was designed by Jessica McClintock. Her fingertip-length veil was secured by a head band trimmed with white satin ribbon and tear drop pearls. (Something New) The veil was designed by the bride. The bride honored her mother by wearing her mother’s single strand of pearl necklace and matching earring. (Something old)

She carried an arm bouquet of yellow roses, mixed autumn flowers, and autumn foliage in hues of yellows, oranges, purples, dark greens and reds, accented with a translucent, metallic gold ribbon bow. Attached to the bouquet was a keepsake handkerchief, fashioned into a baby bonnet that was given to the groom on the day he was born and was loan to the bride by the groom’s mother. (Something borrowed).

Bouquets and other bridal flowers and floral arrangements were designed by Katherine Frankenberry, cousin of the bride, Weatherford, OK.

The bridal also wore the traditional blue garter and had a 2004 penny in her shoe.

Matron-of-Honor was Jennifer Middleton, sister of the bride, Clinton, OK, wore a round neck, short sleeved, formal floor length gown of cranberry satin. She carried an arm bouquet similar to the bride’s.

Also attending the bride was her son Eric Truitt, he was attired in black slacks, and a vest of orange and gold pumpkin embossed brocade and black tie. Vest was designed by Jody Tidwell, mother of the bride. He wore a yellow rose boutonniere.

Ushers were Eric Truitt, son of bride, Leedey, OK and Scott Latham, brother of the groom, Oklahoma City, OK. Latham was attired in a black tux, black vest and black straight tie, and wore a yellow rose boutonniere.

Best man was Terry Latham, brother of the groom, Weatherford, OK. He was attired in a black tux, black vest, and black straight tie. He wore at yellow boutonniere.

The Groom was attired in a black tux, black, cream and gold brocade vest and black straight tie; he wore a yellow rose boutonniere.

The bride’s mother wore a long pale dusty rose floor length gown and wore a yellow rose and mixed autumn flowers corsage.

The groom’s mother wore a two piece dress, the top was cream brocade trimmed in dark green piping, the tea-length skirt was dark green and she wore a yellow rose and mixed autumn flowers corsage.

Grandmother of the groom wore a camel color suit with blue, camel and brown accessories and she wore a yellow rose and mixed autumn flowers corsage.

A reception and dinner was held immediately after the wedding in the Opera House.

The circular guests book table was covered with deep purple harvest fruit embossed table cloth that draped to the floor. Centering the top of the table was a large candle ring of yellow roses, mixed autumn flowers and autumn foliage in hues of yellows, reds, oranges, dark green and purples, a lighted hazelnut scented candle was placed in the center. The candle ring was in memory of the bride’s late father and her late grandparents. Candle ring was designed by Katherine Frankenberry, cousin of the bride, Weatherford, OK.

Also gracing the table was a dark green harvest fruit embossed fabric guest’s book, trimmed with cream color eyelet lace and topped by a bouquet of yellow roses, cream ribbon, and gold wedding bands. The guest’s book was designed by the groom’s mother.

A pair of kissing bride and groom porcelain dolls and white Bible, both were gifts from the groom’s mother, were place on the top of the guest’s book table, along with a framed copy of the newlywed’s engagement announcement.

Draped in dark green harvest fruit embossed tablecloth and topped with cream colored runner printed with harvest fruit the bride’s table held a three-tiered spice wedding cake. The cake was decorated with butter cream frosting with yellow roses and green leaves cascading down the side and one lone candy mini jack-a-lantern was place on the top with the traditional “bride and groom” . Cake was designed by Katherine Frankenberry, cousin of the bride, Weatherford, OK. The table’s centerpiece was made of yellow and white mini-pumpkins, apples, pine cones and autumn leaves nestled on a wicker plate and accented with lighted tea-light candles in champagne glasses. A bottle of toasting wine and glass stemware belonging to the bride’s mother and were used at her mother’s wedding, also decorated the table.

The groom’s table also was draped in same dark green and cream runner, the center piece was a dancing skeleton (Mr. Bone-jangles). The groom’s cakes were a bundt sugar-free carrot cake and a white sheet cake was decorated with yellow roses and green leaves. Banana punch and Orange punch were served from crystal punch bowls, and bowls of candy corn and candy mini-pumpkins, nuts and mints and lighted tea-light candles accented the table.

Dinner tables were draped with almond tablecloths, centerpieces were yellow and white mini-pumpkins, apples, pine cones and autumn leaves nestled on a wicker plate and lighted tea-light candles.

Dinner was catered by Willie’s of Weatherford, OK, and the Tidwell and Latham Families.

Assisting with the wedding and reception was Elaine Rikard, friend of the family, Elk City, OK.

Music for the dinner was provided by Terry’s Sounds, Terry Latham, brother of the groom, Weatherford, OK and assisted by John McFarland, friend of the family, Irving, TX.

The gift table was covered in deep purple harvest fruit embossed table cloth, top with runners of cream with printed harvest fruit. Framed photos of the bridal couple were centered on the table; along with a resin bride and groom bear figurine, lighted tea-light candles, a centerpiece of mini white and yellow pumpkins, pine cones, apples and autumn leaves nestled on a wicker plate. Also highlighted on the table was a wedding album made of white satin and lace trim, top with white flowers, white and silver ribbon and a small silver picture frame holding a picture of the newly wed couple, the photo album was designed by the groom’s mother.

Together the couple opened and displayed their gifts

Terry Latham, brother of the groom, Weatherford, OK, caught the bride’s garter and Jody Tidwell, mother of the bride, Leedey, OK, caught the bride’s bouquet.

The newlyweds were ushered out of The Opera House in a cascade of bubbles, to the couple’s waiting yellow Jeep, traditional decorated with a “Just Married sign” and large yellow and orange bows and a on top of the antenna was a yellow Smiley Face ball decorated in a lace wedding veil, designed by the groom’s mother.

Kevin is employed as a web designer at ITLnet, Inc. Elk City, OK. And Donna is employed as a certified medical aide (CMA) with the Leedey Nursing Center in Leedey, OK.

The newly weds are establishing their home in Elk City, OK. A honeymoon will be planned for a later date
