The Wedding

The Wedding
L to R: Eric, Jennifer, Donna, Brother Creason, Kevin, Terry
(Lots more pictures to come) Posted by Hello

Wedding day

As I type this in, I keep looking at my wedding ring. Yes, I actually got married!

I woke up at 5 am this morning, very excited. I just could not get to sleep. I got up later and got ready.

I and my son Eric went to the apartment. Kevin's family was here. We had a good visit until Jennifer got here. Everybody went to the Opera House and waited until we got dressed.

We arrived at the place with 10 minutes to spare. I made sure that Kevin couldn't see me until the last minute. The look on Kevin's face was priceless.

The ceremony wasn't very long but I think it is going to stick. lol

People took lots and lots of pictures. I literary didn't have to move at all for about 45 minutes.

We had a really good reception with good food and conversation. There wasn't as much people as I expected. But as I said to Kevin, "All we need is our families, the preacher, and each other. The rest is gravy"

For the past week, I was nervous about what I was doing. I am not nervous any more. I know that I married my soul mate, my best friend, and my sweetheart. This person is now my husband. It still boggles me.

I just love him so much. I cannot even put it in words.

Tux Fits

I went to The Wedding Place today and pick up my tux. Its fits. Yeah! They were worried that the jacket would be too big, but fitted great. Terry gets to pick up his tomorrow.

Below you can see the flowers that Donna mentioned yesterday. They look great. Mom's guest book also is wonderful. The picture doesn't do it justice. And if you are wondering about Mr. Bonejangles, click here.

Flowers came in!

My cousin Katherine, made the flowers for the wedding. She delivered them today. I will say that they are absolutely beautiful They have all sorts of flowers and greenery in them. The prevailing color is yellow. I can say that they are different. I just love them. I can mount my bouquet and candle decoration on the wall as is after the wedding. Kevin will want to take pictures of these.

Ten Days

Only ten days left till the big day.

Donna, Eric (Donna's son) and I went to the court clerk's office at the Beckham county court house in Sayre to get our marriage license this morning.

So with our drivers licenses, blood test verifications, certificate of counseling and five dollars, Donna and I are now officially in the great big book of marriage in Beckham County Oklahoma.

All that's left is the ten day wait.
It will probably all hit me when we pick up the tux on Thursday.

Counseling

Well, we did the blood test thing yesterday. Everything was fine. However, Kevin is going to do some research on why we had to do the blood test in the first place.

Today, we went to Leedey to drop off groceries at the house and have the preacher counsel us. We took our Bibles and looked at verses in Proverbs and other books. He was all right. It was a matter of patience for us to go through. He needs to give us the document though so that we can get that five dollar license

We picked out the basic formal ceremony. It shouldn't last anymore then 10 minutes. A little prayer and a blessing is included.

Everything else is done. Everyone is doing their little jobs for us. Now there is the trip to Sayre Counthouse, next week and waiting. That is the worse part.

Blood Test Day

Today Donna and I went to Great Plains Regional Medical Center. There a nice lab tech named Trena took drew our blood samples. Unfortunately we will have to wait until tomorrow to see our results, since Dr. Krompecher was out for the day.

Together our blood tests cost $95. That's quite a large sum just so we can get a $5 marriage license.

Tomorrow we get to meet with Brother Creason for our marriage counseling. (Again just so we can get a $5 marriage license, othewise the license is $50)

Almost Done

Well we have almost everything done before the big day. Our rings arrived Friday, our counseling appointment has been set for Thursday, and I just called the doctor to set up our blood test (for Wednesday). Next week we get to drive to Sayre and get our license. Only 3 more weeks! :-)

invitations, for the most part.

Invitations for the most part has been delivered or mailed. I spent most of 4 hours last night getting them addressed. Kevin helped by making sure the addresses were right.

I spent some time at walmart looking at tablecloths. The cheap plastic were about 88 cents each, which is not bad. I may get these harvest plates for the reception this Saturday.

Everything is gelling and getting together. I shouldn't worry so much as I found no hitches so far.

Invitations

I ordered invitations last week and picked them up today. All the information was correct. We will now address them and stamp them later on this week.

Sigh, I did so wish that we could have used photostamps for our stamp. It would have been so appropiate. So.... we will have to get those love stamps from the post office.

Kevin and Terry ordered their tuxes yesterday. They will be here the Thursday before the Wedding. I wonder since Terry will get his tux one day early, if he is going to go somewhere special? Irregardless, I know that Kevin will be the most handsome one there, Even though he threations to take it off after the ceremony and pictures

Well, I guess if we girls will dress up, the boys will want to too.

I will probably probably go to Dollar Tree tomorrow after work and get these paper table cloths, if I could find them and are a good price.

One Three Off

Incidentally, I called the courthouse on a fact find mission on wedding licences. But to my embarrassment, I keeped calling the funeral home(Rose Chapel). Not once, but twice. The lady was really nice though. But it was confusing though when I asked for information on weddings. There was a one number difference in the phone number.

When I finally got the courthouse. I found out that weddding licenses cost 5 bucks with counseling. 50 bucks without. The license is only good for 10 days and the blood test, 30 days.

Now we have to make a appointment with the preacher for counseling so that we can save that 45 bucks.

Of head pieces and dresses

These are the head pieces I made for the wedding. I just went to walmart, got the materials and just did it. I thought that they turned out great and for the price of one ready made bridal veil, I made three. One is mine, obviously. One is for my Matron of Honor and one is for my niece. I might make another headpeice for my Matron, next week, as she is wearing a cranberry dress.

Speaking of dresses, I finally got my wedding dress. After trying one about six dresses. I got the perfect one. I like the first one I tried on. It had long flowing sleeves and a front panel that had flowing ivy design. But the last one I tried on. It is a stunner. It is simple and classic. All I can say that it is white for I don't want Kevin to see it yet.

Our Invitations

Donna went downtown to Burch Print and ordered our invitations. We should be getting them in about a week.

Here is a sample of what they will look like:

We decided to go ahead and order some invitations instead of print our own. Mainly because we both just loved the design and felt it match our Autumn theme. Plus we couldn't find any blank card stock we really liked.

Our Stamp (Updated)

We just ordered the stamps we are going to use with our invitations.

You can order your own too, just visit photo.stamps.com.

UPDATE: I'm sorry to say our stamp order was rejected. At some point after or just before our order was placed they changed their policy regarding pictures of Adults. I cannot recommend a service that doesn't make it policies clear before you order. We are greatly disappointed. :-(

Agenda

The next step in this agenda is to choose invitaion designs and correlate our invitation lists. Hopefully it won't be too bad on either front. I hope to get a fall design but if I cannot, I cannot.

My mother-in-law is going to make us a guest book and photo book. I have every confidence in her abilities to make them beautiful.

My mother feels bad in that she couldn't afford to really help out. But I told her that I really want is her support of this marriage. She will.

The Place

The Place. The Opera House at the Old Town Complex.  Posted by Hello

Sometime ago

Yep, sometime ago, Kevin asked me to marry him and I said yes. We thought that it would take us a year before we set any date, but we set it on October 31 of this year because we cannot bear to be apart.

So.... I've be working and worrying over these wedding plans. It will be alright though because we already have to essentual elements together. Bride, Groom, Place, Time, Witnesses, and Preacher.

The strange thing about these preparations is even though it is stressful and complex, it is also fun to do.

I got the cake, flowers figured out. Now, I have to work on the dresses. My Matron of Honor and I will go down to the Wedding Place on the 13th to order the dresses. They assured me that it will take 3 weeks to get here once it been ordered. But to make sure, I am going to order early. Once that is ordered, I am looking for shoes.

People are asking me what I want or what are the colors for the Living room, etc.... Shoot. I have to get with Kevin to see what we need, and do the registry thing. I never thought that people will want to give me gifts when I agreed to this Weddding! Wow!

About a week ago Donna and I set a date for our wedding. We wanted to have a little fun and have it on a weekend so everyone could come. So we picked Sunday, October 31, 2004.

Welcome to our wedding page
